Pre-towing Requirements and Considerations: EZ-Haul Car Tow Dolly™

You must check with your automobile’s manufacturer to determine whether or not your vehicle can be towed using a tow dolly. The items listed below must also be considered carefully:

1. Never tow a vehicle with the rear wheels on the tow dolly.
2. Your car’s steering wheel must be unlocked when towing. Even when the steering wheel appears to be unlocked, some automobile steering wheels will lock when turned to the far right or left. To ensure that this does not happen, you may be required to leave the ignition in the accessory position/mode. Check with your automobile’s manufacturer to determine the correct actions to prevent the steering wheel from locking.
3. Determine whether your automobile’s transmission should be placed in park or neutral. If the transmission must remain in neutral for towing, then determine the required ignition setting to ensure that the transmission remains in neutral while in tow.
4. Some automobiles require that you disconnect a battery terminal to ensure that the automobile remains in neutral and that the steering wheel remains unlocked. You may also be able to accomplish this by removing the ignition fuse. In either scenario, you may lose your automobile’s settings, so you may want to use a memory saver or memory keeper. These plug into your automobile’s 12V power supply/cigarette lighter.
5. All-wheel drive automobiles require careful consideration.

Pre-towing Requirements and Considerations: Stow -and- GO Folding Tow Dolly™

Before connecting Stow -and- GO to a tow vehicle, you must check with the manufacturer of the vehicle-to-be-towed and determine whether or not the automobile can be hauled with a tow dolly. The items listed below must also be considered carefully:

1. Never tow a vehicle with the rear wheels on the tow dolly.
2. Determine whether your automobile’s transmission should be placed in PARK or NEUTRAL. If the transmission must remain in NEUTRAL for towing, then determine the required ignition setting to ensure that the transmission remains in NEUTRAL during towing. If your vehicle’s ignition must remain in the ON position, then see the below imperative 3.
3. The vehicle-in-tow’s steering wheel must be locked when towing.
   1. If the vehicle-in-tow’s steering wheel is not equipped with a lock, you must secure it by tying it off to prevent movement.
   2. Some vehicles require other settings for the vehicle-in-tow which will unlock the steering wheel. If this is the case, then you must tie off the steering wheel to prevent movement.
   3. Make sure that the steering wheel will not turn.
4. Some auto manufacturers require you to disconnect a battery terminal to ensure that the vehicle remains in NEUTRAL while in tow. If this is prescribed, please refer to the above imperative 3. You may also be able to accomplish this by removing the ignition fuse. In either scenario, you may lose your automobile’s settings. So, you may want to use a memory saver or memory keeper. These plug into your automobile’s 12V power supply/cigarette lighter.
5. All-wheel drive automobiles cannot be towed with this tow dolly.

6. The space (a) between the ground and the bottom of the bumper or any ground effects (e.g., air dam, bumper lip, spoiler, etc.) must be greater than 3.5″ (a > 3.5″). Additionally, the distance (b) between the front of that ground effect and the point where the front tire meets the road must be less than the product of 4.3 times the clearance (b < 4.3a).
   if these conditions are not met, then the ground effects will come in contact with the tire stop, tow dolly platform, or both and possibly damage them.
